When the Sky Meets the Sea – Fiona Ang

Art

Artist’s Statement: What make me inspired to make this artwork is a notebook cover I saw at a store, but intead of sky and sea, it featured clouds and moon. I've always loved drawing nature, I also love the colour blue, which is why I used the sea and the sky for the element of this composition. This piece shows a girl from the sky meeting a fish from the sea. The circle in the middle is a portal-like from the sky connected to the deep sea. This art is about how different things can emerge together to create something beautiful. This illustration was made digitally with the canvas 1378×2039 pixels. My primary tools were a soft dip pen and fading pen, and it took me 14 hours to complete this composition.

Editor’s Note: Fiona’s work has been selected as the cover art for Issue II!
